Scholarship description: Applications are invited for Birkbeck Anniversary Studentship for Home/EU and International students. Studentships are available for pursuing MPhil/PhD progarmme within the School of Law starting in the 2015/16 academic year. Two fully funded studentships are available with a fee waiver covering the standard Birkbeck PhD fee and an annual stipend at Research Council rates inclusive of London Weighting. The application deadline is 27 April, 2015.

Birkbeck School of Law will award two fully funded Birkbeck Anniversary Scholarships offered by the College to mark the 190th anniversary of its foundation. The competition for this award will be decided on the basis of academic merit. Please note that an application must be made to the MPhil/PhD programme in law.

Eligibility:
-Anniversary studentships are open to Home/EU and International students who have been offered a MPhil/PhD place within the School of Law starting in the 2015/16 academic year.
-Applicants should have at least a 2:1 degree or equivalent in law/criminology and an interest in degree-level teaching, perhaps with a view to an academic career.

Eligible Group: Anniversary scholarships are open to Home/EU and International students.

Birkbeck School of Law will award two Birkbeck Anniversary Studentships.

Scholarships will be tenable for up to three years (subject to satisfactory academic progress) for full-time students.

The Anniversary Studentships award will include a fee waiver capped at the value of the full-time Home/EU rate for MPhil/PhD degrees in addition to an annual stipend set at Research Council rates (currently £15,726).

Selection Criteria: The competition for this award will be decided on the basis of academic merit.

Candidates should clearly state in their application that they wish to be considered for this Anniversary Studentship.
