26 ALECS Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowships in Ireland, 2018

Scholarship Description: The new ALECS Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship is available at Lero, The Irish Software Research Centre to study in Ireland. The initiative is co-funded by the European Commission under the Marie Sk?odowska-Curie programme and by Science Foundation Ireland, through Lero.

The aim of the programme is to provide training and career development to researchers by providing international mobility and intersectoral exposure.

Scholarship Provider: Advanced Learning in Evolving Critical Systems (ALECS) is an innovative fellowship programme coordinated by Lero, the Irish Software Research Centre. The initiative is co-funded by the European Commission under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie programme and by Science Foundation Ireland, through Lero.

Degree Level: Fellowships are available for researchers.

Scholarship Benefits: Awarding €6.16 billion in the period of 2014 to 2020, the initiative offers researchers attractive working conditions and fosters cross-sector and international mobility. The combination of generous research funding coupled with the possibility to gain experience abroad and in the private sector enables cooperation helps to foster knowledge transfer and boosts researchers’ career prospects.

Eligible Nationalities: Researchers of any nationality, who comply with the programme’s eligibility requirements, may apply.

Entrance Criteria: Applicants must meet the following criteria:

The programme will fund 26 fellowships for researchers, who either have a PhD degree or who have at least 4 years equivalent full-time equivalent research experience (in academia or industry).

Lero, the Irish Software Research Centre is the programme coordinator. However, a degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering (or in a related discipline) is not mandatory. Applications are open to candidates from alternative/complementary disciplines.
