Full graduate study scholarships are available through a cooperation between the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the Mastercard Foundation.
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme at AUB strives to empower young people to act as change agents in their local communities, nations, and regions. The programme requires scholars to participate in a number of workshops, courses, and fieldwork in addition to the courses for their degree.

The AUB Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program offers full scholarships to exceptional students who meet the following criteria:

Eligibility Criteria for The American University of Beirut Scholarship
To be eligible for AUB’s Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is essential.
- Eligible Countries: Citizens of Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Djibouti, Mauritania, Comoros, and other African countries are eligible to apply. Additionally, refugees and displaced individuals living in Lebanon can also apply.
- Academic Transcripts: Provide official university transcripts for all educational levels.
- Graduate Application: Submit the online graduate application.
- Recommendation Letters: Include two recommendation letters.
- Language Tests: Depending on your program, you may need to take the IELTS or TOEFL for English proficiency. GMAT is required for MBA applicants, and GRE is required for some majors in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
- Application Fees: Pay the application fees, which amount to $50 or L.L. 75,000.
