Position Overview
This internship opportunity is based in New York and is designed to be full-time and in-person, with potential flexibility for part-time, remote, or hybrid arrangements upon the intern’s request. Interns are expected to work five days per week, following official working hours with an hour for lunch. The selected intern will work under the guidance of a dedicated internship coordinator and a primary supervisor within the WMDB.
Key Responsibilities
Interns will engage in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Drafting and preparing official documents, summaries, speeches, and web content.
- Attending and summarizing conferences and meetings.
- Conducting comprehensive research.
- Assisting during conferences and meetings.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Educational Requirements:
- Enrollment in a graduate program, or completion of at least a bachelor’s degree.
- Studies should be related to the field of disarmament, international relations, or a related area.
Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- A strong interest in the work and ideals of the United Nations.
- The ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Language:
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French or another UN official language is advantageous.
Experience:
- No professional work experience is necessary, but your field of study should be relevant to the internship.
Additional Information
