TAFE NSW’s Bachelor of Community Services supports the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities and aims to facilitate social change. Students study community services work through theory and practical course work, using models, theories and methods of community services interventions for individuals and communities. The course also focuses on advocating for social action and social change and generating intervention strategies in community services delivery and practice.

This is an online degree with a structure made up of 22 subjects (18 core and 4 electives). The course includes 400 hours of practical experience in the workplace. Completion leads to a Bachelor Degree (AQF 7), with skills to coordinate services, communicate with diverse teams, and apply problem-solving in new and complex community services situations.

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol. You must demonstrate that you have achieved one of the following: A NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent OR A Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation or its equivalent OR A completed certificate IV or higher vocational qualification OR Successful completion of at least one year full-time (or equivalent) study in a course at a higher education institution

Note: Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer

Completion requirements during your study include a Working with Children Check (WWCC), a National Police Check, and any additional evidence required by your work placement provider.
