The TAFE NSW Bachelor of Property Valuation is a degree for learning property valuation across residential, commercial, rural and other specialist areas. The course uses a mixture of theory and practical course work to cover valuation knowledge such as the built environment, property law, court judgements, economic trends, and ethical business practices. You also learn to calculate accurate valuations using complex theoretical knowledge and industry insights.

Students complete 24 subjects (240 credit points), made up of 21 core subjects and 3 elective subjects. Completion focuses on professional practice founded on knowledge across a range of property classes. The degree develops communication skills for written and verbal decisions, and it builds professional learning habits such as reflection, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Graduates of TAFE NSW’s Bachelor of Property Valuation (AQF 7) are eligible to apply for an Associate Level Membership and can apply for Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) certification through the Australian Property Institute subject to work experience.

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

• You must demonstrate that you have achieved one of the following: A NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent or A Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation or its equivalent or A completed certificate IV or higher vocational qualification
• Submit a 500 word essay that shows your motivation to study and work in the property valuation industry
• Attend a pre-admission interview where you may also be asked to complete a short literacy and numeracy task - this helps us to understand how we can support your study success and provide you with any necessary support
• Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer
