Diploma of Apparel Fashion and Textiles Design and Product Development Mst50122

TAFE NSW offers the Diploma of Apparel, Fashion and Textiles (Design and Product Development) MST50122. You study garment design drawing, pattern making, and sewing skills. The course also covers garment concept development, sourcing and resources for production of TCF designs, cost production, sustainable practice in apparel and textile design and production, and quality assurance of textile products.

Learning mixes theory and practical coursework. You complete 25 total units, including 9 core units and 16 elective units. Core units cover design concepts, digital design tools, research and analysis of textile materials, and networking with TCF industry participants. You also gain practical experience through sewing garments, patternmaking and grading, and producing garment prototypes and garments using construction techniques.
