Diploma of Civil Construction Design Rii50520

The Diploma of Civil Construction Design (RII50520) prepares personnel who work as designers or design para-professionals to support professional engineers. Students learn to develop site-specific work designs to implement client site requirements, and apply technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills. The course focuses on design, drafting and building infrastructure projects, including applying design principles and meeting safety standards and customer needs.

TAFE NSW delivers the program through a mix of theory and practical coursework over a duration of 1.5 years. Students study all core units and elective units that total 20 units. Learning includes work with engineering packages and Building Information Modelling (BIM) to manage and share information, plus practical experience using construction materials testing equipment and surveying equipment.
