The Diploma of Engineering - Technical (Mechanical) from TAFE NSW teaches you to design, plan and improve mechanical systems. You study how manufacturing processes work, how to produce engineering design calculations, and how to apply mathematical techniques and environmentally sustainable work practices.
Learning is delivered through a mixture of theory and practical course work. You complete 20 units of competency, including 5 core and 15 specialty units, with options to develop engineering drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) and to use industry programs to design and model engineering measurements and specifications.
The course is for people who can meet the entry requirements. TAFE NSW states that trainees must be employed as a trainee in the industry, and that your Apprenticeship Connect Australia Provider (ACAP) must submit your Training Proposal Plan (TPP).
