Diploma of Graphic Design Cua50725

The Diploma of Graphic Design at TAFE NSW strengthens creative and technical design skills and visual storytelling. You study core graphic design units such as refining visual representation tools, researching visual communication history and theory, producing graphic designs, and creating typographic and layout solutions, plus designing practice to meet industry needs. You also present a body of your own creative work.

The course runs for 1 year and uses a mix of theory and practical coursework. You work through the design process from initial design to final product, working within client briefs for advertising, packaging, and publishing. You use industry software and have access to drawing tablets and scanners, with practice in digital and 3D design, typography, publishing elements, and user interfaces.
