TAFE NSW offers the Diploma of Information Technology (Cyber Security and Cloud Architecture) ICT50220CS to help students develop skills across multiple IT industry areas. Students learn to manage IT projects, build websites, design virtual networks, and lead teams. Core units include originating and developing concepts, promoting workplace cyber security awareness and best practices, leading and facilitating a team, matching ICT needs with strategic direction, applying IP, ethics and privacy in ICT environments, and managing client problems.
The course structure requires 6 core units and 14 elective units. At the start of the course, students receive a timetable and must study all core units plus a range of additional units. Campus learning uses authentic, real world simulated environments with relevant industry-standard software and a workplace environment. Graduates are described as going on to roles such as entry-level programmers, web developers, and level 2 network support people.
