Diploma of Information Technology Cyber Security Ict50220

The Diploma of Information Technology (Cyber Security) (ICT50220-09) at TAFE NSW helps you identify and respond to data threats and protect infrastructure and data. The course uses theory and practical course work to build skills to lead and facilitate a team, manage networks, manage client problems, and apply IP, ethics and privacy in ICT environments.

Course structure is a nationally accredited Diploma at Diploma level with a total of 20 units of competency: 6 core units and 14 speciality units. Specialty units are packaged, and not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location, so you are advised to check your preferred campus. The qualification prepares you for opportunities in the IT industry and for cyber security roles.

• This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.
• That you have achieved a Year 12 high school certificate or an equivalent as evidenced by a copy of your certificate or
• That you have recent or current work experience in Information Technology as evidenced by a letter of support from your employer or your resume or
• That you have completed a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test with scores of 5 in Learning, 5 in Reading, 5 in Writing, 5 in Numeracy, 5 in Oral Communication and 3 in Digital Literacy as evidenced by a copy of your test results
• Completed a Certificate IV in Information Technology (with a recommended preference in Networking) or equivalent work experience.
• Commitment and drive to manage a heavy course load
• Adequate time to complete course work and additional study outside of class hours
• Access to a desktop PC, laptop or equivalent computing device and a strong internet connection
• Need to check preferred location for any extra entry requirements.
