Diploma of Information Technology Database and Data Management Ict50220

The Diploma of Information Technology (Database and Data Management) at TAFE NSW gives an overview of the ICT industry and builds specialist skills in data and database management. Students learn to manage data systems and integrate databases, identify and improve data processes based on a client’s business reality, and apply IP, ethics, and privacy in ICT environments.

The course uses a mix of theory and practical course work. It prepares students with skills to model data processes using industry and organisation standards, apply workplace cyber security awareness and best practices, and lead and facilitate a team while managing client problems. Students complete 20 units of competency, including 6 core and 14 specialty units.

This diploma leads to pathways for further study at TAFE NSW and prepares graduates for roles such as internal IT manager, database administrator, and data manager.

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

• That you have achieved a Year 12 high school certificate or equivalent as evidenced by a copy of your certificate or
• That you have achieved a Certificate IV in Information Technology as evidenced by a copy of your certificate or transcript or
• That you have recent or current work experience in Information Technology as evidenced by a letter of support from your employer or your resume or
• That you have completed a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test with scores of 4 in Learning, 4 in Reading, 4 in Writing, 4 in Numeracy, 4 in Oral Communication and 3 in Digital Literacy as evidenced by a copy of your test results
