The Advanced Diploma of Marine Engineering (Class 1) - (Motor) (MAR60120) is designed to prepare you to perform specialised tasks as an Engineer Class 1. You will plan and schedule operations, organise safe maintenance and repair procedures, and operate and maintain electrical machinery, electronic control, and engine equipment. You will also manage vessel administration, including business, legal, and personnel aspects.
The course uses a mix of theory and practical coursework. You will study core units and additional units, and you will complete practical experience in firefighting, survival techniques, life board practicals, and live electrical fault finding. At the start of your course, TAFE NSW will provide your timetable.
