Diploma of Mental Health Chc53315

TAFE NSW’s Diploma of Mental Health (CHC53315-01) prepares you to support people with mental health needs. You learn advocacy, trauma-informed practice, program development, recovery-oriented services, and how to work with diverse people and service networks.

The course uses a mixture of theory and practical course work. To complete the diploma, you must successfully complete 20 units of competency, including 15 core and 5 specialty units. Completion requires evidence such as a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a National Police Check.

• During your study you'll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence: Working with Children Check (WWCC); National Police Check; any additional evidence your work placement provider requires.
• Entry recommendations: a Certificate IV in Mental Health; an interest in developing your leadership and management skills; high level written and verbal communication skills; empathy, patience and the ability to empower others; good organisational and time management skills; the ability to work independently and in groups; access to a computer with internet connection.
