The Diploma of Nursing HLT54121 at TAFE NSW prepares you to become an enrolled nurse. You study nursing practice across the Australian health care system, including client health assessment, nursing care planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as care for mental health, acute health conditions, chronic health conditions, wounds, and older people.

The course combines theory and practical coursework. You complete clinical work placement with a minimum of 400 hours of practical experience and practise clinical assessment with a mannequin. TAFE NSW also includes study in a simulated environment that reflects authentic working conditions, with access to infection control practices, medicines and intravenous therapy, and patient communication skills.

Successful completion leads to eligibility to apply for registration as an enrolled nurse through AHPRA, and the qualification could help you prepare for roles like Enrolled Nurse.
