Diploma of Remedial Massage Hlt52021

TAFE NSW’s Diploma of Remedial Massage HLT52021 builds skills to become a qualified remedial massage therapist. Students assess and treat clients with musculoskeletal pain and injuries, and clients who have difficulty moving freely. The course covers the difference between remedial and relaxation massage techniques and working with clients with different needs such as disability, pregnancy, and those in palliative care.

Students complete theory and practical coursework in a purpose built massage therapy clinic. To achieve the qualification, all students must complete at least 200 hours of clinic work through the onsite clinics, including relaxation massage consultation, remedial massage consultations of one hour duration, and clinic work such as cleaning and reception duties. Students keep a logbook to record clinic work and practise skills while embedding course knowledge.
