Diploma of Screen and Media Journalism Cua51020

TAFE NSW’s Diploma of Screen and Media (Journalism) trains you to create and produce screen and media content for multiple platforms and audiences. Learning includes recording and editing video and audio, planning and conducting interviews, and developing stories into effective content for publishing.

Coursework combines theory and practical work. You complete development and production of live TV and radio broadcasts, podcasts and films, and you manage post-production. You also work collaboratively to create content and presentations, using industry standard software and technical equipment.

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

• Successful completion of Year 12 of high school or equivalent, as evidenced by a copy of your transcript, or
• Successful completion of a Certificate IV qualification from TAFE NSW as evidenced by a copy of your transcript or certificate, and
• Before your first day of class you must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test and achieve a score of Level 4 in Writing and Oral Communication, Level 3 in Numeracy and Level 2 in Digital Literacy. This helps us to determine that your skills match the demands of the course, to direct you to an alternative study option or to provide you with the appropriate support for your success. Your teacher will let you know when this must be completed.
