The Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning (Professional Practice) at TAFE NSW is designed to complete three Financial Adviser Standards (FAS) accredited bridging courses. These cover ethics and professional standards for financial planners; commercial and corporations law for financial planners; and behavioural finance for financial planners. Along with the subject ‘Applied Financial Advice’, the course makes you eligible for the award of Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning (Professional Practice) after one semester of study.

TAFE NSW states the course blends theory and practical coursework. Learning outcomes include acting in accordance with regulatory requirements to provide financial advice, developing and analysing financial solutions, explaining financial concepts and legal and regulatory requirements to clients and other stakeholders, and applying ethical practices when working with clients and stakeholders. The course requires successful completion of 8 core subjects (80 credit points), and study is available full-time, part-time and online.

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

• You must demonstrate that you have achieved the following: That you are currently practicing as a financial planner or adviser and hold a degree or higher qualification in a finance related field (that is not a Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority [FASEA] approved course)
• Note: Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer
• This is not a FASEA approved course
