Curtin University Merit-Based International Awards in UAE

Curtin University Dubai describes scholarships as merit-based awards granted for merit in academic study, industry contribution, service to the community, or other achievement. The Academic Excellence Scholarship is presented as rewarding students who have excelled in their high school examinations, with eligible students receiving a merit-based scholarship toward their tuition fees.

Academic Excellence Scholarship eligibility is tied to academic performance in high school examinations. Curtin University Dubai states that funding opportunities are available for both commencing and current Curtin Dubai undergraduate and postgraduate students, including for scholarships.

All applications are reviewed by the scholarship committee (and the Campus’s Student Funding Committee is referenced for review of merit-based applications). For merit-based applications, a selection panel assesses applications based on the information provided in the application.

Recipients must maintain the prescribed academic grades to retain funding. Managing conditions are outlined in the terms and conditions for each funding category, including maintaining standards of academic performance, study load, and general conduct, with enrolment and results checked each teaching period.

1. Apply for funding using the university application form.
2. Include a supporting letter highlighting the applicant’s merits or need for financial aid.
3. Complete the application in full; incomplete applications will be deemed unsuccessful.
4. Present all relevant supporting documents, including original academic documents, to Curtin Dubai for review before the application deadline.
5. If the applicant receives a Conditional Offer Letter, provide the remaining documents and complete pending formalities to continue to be enrolled in units for the applicable teaching period, with documents needed by the census date to avoid automatic withdrawal.
6. To accept the funding offer, sign and submit the Award Letter to the Admissions Officer.
