Swinburne University of Technology Scholarships

Swinburne International Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship offered to international students commencing their studies for the first time at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus in an undergraduate course, a postgraduate course, or a pathway course (Swinburne Foundation Program, a UniLink diploma or Postgraduate Qualifying Program). If eligible, you receive 20% off your tuition fees for the standard course duration, calculated from the course start date to the course end date as stated in your letter of offer.

The scholarship excludes some courses. Excluded undergraduate courses include Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting (including the double degrees) and Bachelor of Nursing. Excluded postgraduate courses include Master of Physiotherapy, Master of Occupational Therapy, master degrees by research and doctorate degrees.

Selection is based on grades of your previous study when you apply to commence an intake in an eligible course for the first time at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus. If your application for study is successful, Swinburne notifies you in your letter of offer whether you received an international scholarship.

The scholarship applies to tuition fees only and does not apply to other fee types such as practicum training, Overseas Student Health Cover, or other non-tuition fee costs. Further parameters and conditions are included in your letter of offer.

• Be an international student (citizens of Australia or New Zealand and permanent residents of Australia are not eligible)
• Meet any course or scholarship-specific entry requirements, the terms and conditions of the scholarship, and the conditions outlined in your letter of offer
• Not be in receipt of a Swinburne tuition fee scholarship or reduced fee arrangement at any one time (Swinburne will apply the most favourable arrangement)
• Not be in receipt of another form of tuition fee scholarship or reduced fee arrangement from another organisation at the same time
• For this scholarship specifically: be an international student commencing their studies for the first time at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus in an undergraduate course, a postgraduate course, or a pathway course (Swinburne Foundation Program, a UniLink diploma or Postgraduate Qualifying Program)
• Exclude courses: not enrolled in Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting (including the double degrees) or Bachelor of Nursing (undergraduate)
• Exclude courses: not enrolled in Master of Physiotherapy, Master of Occupational Therapy, master degrees by research or doctorate degrees (postgraduate)

1. When you apply to commence an intake in an eligible course for the first time at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus, Swinburne automatically considers you for the available international scholarships based on the grades of your previous study.
2. If your application for study is successful, you will receive a letter of offer from Swinburne.
3. In that same letter of offer, Swinburne will notify you if you have received an international scholarship.
