Swinburne University Scholarships

Swinburne International Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship offered to international students commencing their studies for the first time at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus in an undergraduate course, a postgraduate course, or a pathway course (Swinburne Foundation Program, a UniLink diploma or Postgraduate Qualifying Program). If you are eligible, you will receive 20 percent off your tuition fees for the standard course duration.

The scholarship applies to students studying at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus. It excludes certain courses, including Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting (including the double degrees) and Bachelor of Nursing (undergraduate), and Master of Physiotherapy, Master of Occupational Therapy, master degrees by research and doctorate degrees (postgraduate).

Selection is based on the grades of your previous study. No extra application is needed: when you apply to commence an intake in an eligible course for the first time at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus, Swinburne automatically considers you for available international scholarships based on your grades.

If your application is successful, Swinburne issues a letter of offer and notifies you in the same letter if you have received an international scholarship. The tuition discount is calculated from the course start date to the course end date as stated in your letter of offer, and the scholarship applies to tuition fees only (not other fees such as practicum training or Overseas Student Health Cover).

• Be an international student (citizens of Australia or New Zealand and permanent residents of Australia are not eligible).Meet any course or scholarship-specific entry requirements, the terms and conditions of the scholarship, and the conditions outlined in your letter of offer.Not be in receipt of a Swinburne tuition fee scholarship or reduced fee arrangement at any one time (Swinburne will apply the most favourable arrangement).Not be in receipt of another form of tuition fee scholarship or reduced fee arrangement from another organisation at the same time.Commence your studies for the first time at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus in an eligible course (undergraduate course, postgraduate course, or pathway course: Swinburne Foundation Program, UniLink diploma or Postgraduate Qualifying Program).Meet the scholarship’s merit-based basis through the grades of your previous study (used for automatic consideration when you apply).

• 20% off tuition fees for the standard course duration (calculated from the course start date to the course end date as stated in your letter of offer).The scholarship applies to tuition fees only and does not apply to other fees such as practicum training, Overseas Student Health Cover or other non-tuition fee costs.

1. Apply to commence an intake in an eligible course for the first time at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus.
2. No extra application is needed for the Swinburne International Scholarship; Swinburne automatically considers you for available international scholarships based on the grades of your previous study.
3. If your application for study is successful, wait for your letter of offer, which includes notification of whether you received an international scholarship.
