The Global Excellence Scholarship at the University of Western

The Global Excellence Scholarship at the University of Western Australia is an annual tuition fee discount for the normal full-time duration of the course as specified in the letter of offer. UWA states the scholarship value is determined by the applicant’s equivalent Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or UWA weighted average mark (WAM).

UWA offers the Global Excellence Scholarship to high-achieving international students from all countries who choose to study with UWA. To be considered, applicants must have received an offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University of Western Australia.

UWA states the scholarship is automatically awarded to those who are eligible based on ATAR/WAM requirements. UWA Admissions assesses eligibility when final academic transcripts are provided, and the scholarship value is then determined by ATAR or WAM.

UWA states the scholarship applies for the normal full-time duration of the recipient’s course as specified in the letter of offer. • Students from all countries are eligible.
• Must have received an offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course for the specified intake at The University of Western Australia.
• Undergraduate eligibility: applicant must be applying for an eligible undergraduate course, combined bachelor’s degree, combined bachelor’s and master’s degree, or an Assured Pathway course.
• Undergraduate exclusions: Assured Pathway to Medicine; Assured Pathway to Dental Medicine.
• Undergraduate academic requirement: minimum ATAR 85.00 for 10% off tuition fees.
• Undergraduate academic requirement: minimum ATAR 90.00 for 20% off tuition fees.
• Postgraduate eligibility: applicant must be applying for an eligible postgraduate course.
• Postgraduate exclusions: Juris Doctor (20820); Doctor of Medicine (91850); Doctor of Dental Medicine (91860); Doctor of Optometry (91590); UWA Micro-credentials.
• Postgraduate academic requirement: minimum WAM 65.00 for 10% off tuition fees.
• Postgraduate academic requirement: minimum WAM 75.00 for 20% off tuition fees.
• Combined bachelor’s and combined bachelor’s and master’s (CBM) eligibility: all combined bachelor’s and combined bachelor’s and master’s degrees are considered eligible.
• A separate scholarship application is not required.
• Continuing the scholarship: recipients are required to meet criteria to keep the scholarship (details in Full terms and conditions PDF, clause “Criteria for Continuation”).
• Concurrency restriction: the Global Excellence Scholarship may not be held concurrently with any other UWA issued tuition fee reduction, academic scholarship or award.

• Tuition fee discount (annual tuition fee discount).
• For eligible undergraduate applicants: 10% off tuition fees with minimum ATAR 85.00.
• For eligible undergraduate applicants: 20% off tuition fees with minimum ATAR 90.00.
• For eligible postgraduate applicants: 10% off tuition fees with minimum WAM 65.00.
• For eligible postgraduate applicants: 20% off tuition fees with minimum WAM 75.00.

1. Submit an application to your chosen UWA course (a separate scholarship application is not required).
2. UWA Admissions will assess eligibility for the Global Excellence Scholarship automatically once you provide your final transcripts.
3. After receiving final transcripts, UWA Admissions will take one of the following actions: send a new offer that includes the scholarship if you have not accepted a conditional offer; or provide a scholarship contract to sign if you have accepted a conditional offer (with the scholarship amount credited to your student account for that semester).
