University of Queensland Australia UQ Firebirds Scholarship

The University of Queensland offers the UQ Firebirds Scholarship. The scholarship value is $5,000 for 1 year. The scholarship is maintained through annual funding from Queensland Firebirds and UQ Marketing and Communications, and it supports students in areas including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background, financial hardship, rural or remote background, and sporting excellence.

The scholarship is for domestic and international future UQ students studying at the undergraduate level, across all study areas. Eligibility requires that applicants are commencing students enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program.

Selection considers evidence of financial hardship, strength of interest in the chosen program as shown in the personal statement included in the application, and commitment to the netball community as shown in the personal statement included in the application. Preference is given in the following order: Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons; applicants from a Regional, Rural or Remote Area; and applicants who are First in Family.

After applying, the University of Queensland emails confirmation of the application. If successful, the University of Queensland advises the applicant. The scholarship duration is 1 year.
