University of Queensland - Wensley Sporting International Scholarship

The University of Queensland’s Wensley Sporting Scholarship is designed for study support linked to financial hardship and sporting excellence. The scholarship is named in honour of The Honourable Dr Penelope Wensley AC and established in by Alumni Friends under the Create Change Scholarship Match Initiative. It is maintained by the Alumni Friends Giving Society endowment fund.

It is aimed at students who are Australian citizens, permanent residents, or holders of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa, and who are, or intend to be, enrolled on a full-time basis (except in exceptional circumstances considered relevant by the committee). Study level covers undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate coursework, and study area is listed as all study areas.

Selection is based on demonstrated financial need, sporting achievements to date, and potential to perform in the chosen sport at an elite level (state or national). The selection committee may also consider any other information relevant to future success in studies.
