University of Sydney International Academic Excellence Scholarship

The University of Sydney International Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship funded by the University of Sydney to support exceptional international students from diverse priority markets studying across diverse undergraduate courses at the University of Sydney. It provides 100% tuition fees and the Student Services Amenities Fee.

The scholarship is aimed at international students who have applied for, but not yet commenced, a single undergraduate coursework degree (including embedded honours). It applies to eligible single undergraduate coursework degrees at the University of Sydney and requires full-time enrolment. It is not available for combined degrees with a postgraduate component, specific dual degrees with postgraduate components listed on the page, and degrees that include the Bachelor of Advanced Studies.

Selection is based on academic merit from the applicants application for admission and meeting the minimum threshold set by the selection committee, completion of an online application form, diversity of nationality, and diversity of intended degree. The selection committee includes the Director, International (or nominated delegate), the Director, Admissions (or nominated delegate), and the International Officer. The decision of the selection committee is final.

Support is provided for the published full-time duration of the recipients single undergraduate degree (including embedded honours) up to a maximum total duration of 4 years full-time study. To continue receiving the scholarship, recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester, have no outstanding fees, and complete the degree within the published full-time duration. The scholarship cannot be extended without prior approval of Director, International, deferral and suspension are not permitted, and termination applies in cases such as withdrawal, becoming a domestic student, not maintaining satisfactory academic performance, or receiving another commencing student scholarship except for the Sydney International Student Award.

• Have applied for but not yet commenced a single undergraduate coursework degree (may include embedded honours) at the University of Sydney at the time of award, with a maximum duration of 4 years.
• Apply only for eligible courses; the scholarship is not available for combined degrees with a postgraduate component, Bachelor of Arts (Dual Degree, Sciences Po, France), Bachelor of Economics (Dual Degree, Sciences Po, France), and degrees that include the Bachelor of Advanced Studies.
• Enrol in the eligible degree full-time.
• Not commence a second degree at the University of Sydney.
• Be an international student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003; Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents, and dual citizens with Australian nationality are not eligible.
• Have completed secondary school (or a foundation program in Australia or from a University of Sydney recognised foundation partner).
• Must not have previously undertaken any tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed as part of a year 12 program).

• 100% tuition fees for the published full-time duration of the recipients single undergraduate degree (including embedded honours) up to a maximum total duration of 4 years full-time study.
• Student Services Amenities Fee for the published full-time duration of the recipients single undergraduate degree (including embedded honours) up to a maximum total duration of 4 years full-time study.
• No other amount is payable; recipients are responsible for all other costs for studying at the University of Sydney, including Overseas Health Cover (OSHC), living costs, accommodation, textbooks, flights, and costs associated with being under the age of 18.
