University of Sydney - Public Health Asia Pacific Scholarship

The University of Sydney Public Health Asia Pacific Scholarship is a postgraduate coursework scholarship established to provide financial assistance to students studying a degree in the School of Public Health at the University of Sydney with citizenship from India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, or the Pacific Island Countries and Territories. The scholarship value is $7,500 and is tenable for one full-time semester.

The scholarship is aimed at international students with citizenship from India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, or the Pacific Island Countries and Territories who hold an unconditional offer of admission or are currently enrolled in eligible programs in the School of Public Health. Eligible programs include Master of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology), Master of Science in Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology), Master of Bioethics, Master of Biostatistics, Master of Health Policy and Planning, Master of Global Health, Master of Public Health, and specified graduate diplomas and graduate certificates in related fields.

Selection is based on academic merit, the applicant’s application of admission to the University of Sydney, demonstrated evidence of citizenship, a cover letter outlining the student’s case for the scholarship, and a curriculum vitae. Preference is given to applicants who have at least one of: a Master’s degree, a Doctor of Philosophy degree, a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree, an Honours degree or recognition, and/or experience in public health, health services, and/or health research. The Head of School of the School of Public Health (or nominated delegate(s)) awards the scholarship.

For a full-time load, the scholarship is valued at $7,500 for one full-time semester and is paid directly towards tuition fees of the applicable semester. If studying part-time, the amount per relevant semester is 50% of the full-time rate and is tenable for two part-time semesters. The scholarship value is capped to the student’s tuition fee if tuition is less than the scholarship value for the semester. Deferral or suspension is not permitted, and the scholarship cannot be transferred to another University school or Faculty. The scholarship is terminated on specified grounds, and the University may request reimbursement of funds paid if serious misconduct is found or termination applies.

• Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae.
• Applicants must provide demonstrated evidence of citizenship.

• Scholarship value: $7,500.
• Tenable for one full-time semester.
• Paid directly towards the student’s tuition fees of the applicable semester.
• If studying part-time: the amount awarded for each relevant semester is 50% of the full-time rate, and the scholarship is tenable for two part-time semesters.
• If tuition fees are less than the scholarship value for the relevant semester: the scholarship value equals the student’s tuition fee.
• No other amount is payable.
