University of Sydney - Social Impact Awards

The University of Sydney Business School established the Social Impact Scholarship (MBA) to promote academic excellence within the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree offered by the University of Sydney. The scholarship is described as a postgraduate tuition fee scholarship for outstanding students.

The scholarship is available to applicants of the Future Leaders Scholarship who are eligible for admission into the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Sydney Business School. Students currently enrolled in the University of Sydney MBA and University of Sydney employees are not eligible to apply.

The scholarship is awarded based on prior academic merit and a personal statement. The personal statement must demonstrate leadership capability, ambassadorial potential with public and professional communication skills, and motivation to succeed in business in a socially responsible way by applying learning from the MBA to making a positive difference to professional life and business practice.

The scholarship covers academic tuition fees for two units of study (12 credit points). One unit is covered in the recipient’s first semester of study and the other and final unit in the recipient’s second semester of study. Deferral or suspension is not permitted without prior permission of the Director of the MBA Programs, and it is not transferable. Recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 in the first semester to continue the scholarship. The recipient must pay the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and the remainder of academic tuition fees, and the University states that the scholarship will be terminated in specified circumstances including withdrawal, failure to maintain performance, serious misconduct, or being awarded an alternative primary scholarship such as the Future Leader Scholarship.

• Applicants must be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen.
• Applicants must be eligible for admission into the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Sydney Business School.
• Applicants must be applicants of the Future Leaders Scholarship.
• Students currently enrolled in the University of Sydney MBA are not eligible.
• University of Sydney employees are not eligible.

• Academic tuition fee coverage for two units of study (12 credit points) in the MBA Program.
• Payment timing: one unit covered in the recipient’s first semester of study; the other and final unit covered in the recipient’s second semester of study.
• The University states no other amount is payable.
• Recipients are required to pay their Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and the remainder of their academic tuition fees.

1. No application is required for the Social Impact Scholarship (MBA).
2. Applicants for the Future Leaders MBA Scholarship are automatically considered.
