University of Wollongong Australia University Postgraduate Award

University Postgraduate Awards (UPAs) are stipends intended to cover some living expenses. The University of Wollongong awards them to candidates at its university, and the purpose stated is to cover some living expenses.

The UPA is for Doctoral and Master of Philosophy candidates only and is only available at the University of Wollongong. UPA allocations cover students across the listed faculties and study areas, for both domestic and international students, and for current and future students.

The University of Wollongong has a limited number of UPAs. They are allocated based on merit each year.

For Doctoral candidates, support lasts three and a half years full-time, and for Master of Philosophy candidates, support lasts two years. The stipend is non-taxable for full-time candidates and is indexed annually. Successful students are expected to commence their UPA in the Autumn session following application.
