Austria University of Innsbruck Need-based Scholarships 2018 2019

Scholarship Description: The University of Innsbruck is inviting applications for Need-based Scholarships. These scholarships are intended to be used for diploma thesis, master’s thesis and doctoral thesis that have not yet been completed.

Needs-based scholarships aim at supporting degree students writing theses at universities.

Scholarship Provider: The University of Innsbruck is a public university in Innsbruck, the capital of the Austrian federal state of Tyrol, founded in 1669.

Degree Level: Scholarships are intended to be used for diploma thesis, master’s thesis and doctoral thesis that have not yet been completed.

Available Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.

Eligible Nationality: Austrian Scholarships are citizens, citizens from EEA states and stateless persons granted equal status are entitled to make an application.

Eligible Countries: Austrian citizens, citizens from EEA states and stateless persons granted equal status are entitled to make an application.

Entrance Requirements:
Application by the student to write a thesis that has not yet been completed, including a description of this thesis, an overview of costs and a financing plan;
Submission of at least one expert opinion from a university teacher (as set out in § 94 Paragraph 2 of the Universities Act 2002) on the financing plan and the probability of the student succeeding in completing the thesis with an above-average grade based on the student’s proposals for the thesis and his/her academic performance so far;
Applicants must not exceed the maximum study period during which they are entitled to receive a needs-based scholarship (§ 18 StudFG). However, valid reasons justifying an extended period of study may be taken into consideration (§ 19 StudFG);
Applicants must fulfil all general requirements (as a minimum requirement) in order to apply for a needs-based scholarship.

English Language Requirements: If English is not your first language then you will need to show that your English language skills are at a high enough level to succeed in your studies.
