Animation

Algonquin College’s Animation Ontario College Advanced Diploma is a full-time program that focuses on acting and storytelling, and on real-world observation and body mechanics to create dynamic animation. Students develop performance animation and storytelling skills using industry-standard 2D and 3D tools, along with courses in layout, location, character design, gesture drawing, and anatomy studies.

The program includes an experiential and work-integrated learning structure with a capstone/major project as a culminating activity within the program or as a major part of a course. Courses may run in the classroom or lab, be entirely online, or be hybrid. Students also complete a professional portfolio and demo reel that highlight animation principles, software, and technologies.
