The Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program at Northern Lights College is a collaboration between the University of Northern British Columbia, Northern Health, and Northern Lights College. Students complete general studies and prerequisite courses for admission to UNBC during four semesters of full-time study at Northern Lights College, then transfer to UNBC in Fort St. John to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing over five consecutive semesters.
To start at NLC, apply to the Associate of Arts Degree (Health Studies). Admission requirements for that stage include English 12, Math 11, Biology 12, and Chemistry 11, with appropriate equivalencies available. As students near completion of the Associate Degree, they apply to the Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program at UNBC.
The Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program is only open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. International students may complete the Associate Degree at NLC, but they are not eligible to apply to the NBNP until they meet citizenship or permanent residency requirements.
To get started at NLC, apply to the Associate of Arts Degree (Health Studies). Admission requirements include English 12, Math 11, Biology 12, and Chemistry 11 or appropriate equivalencies. If you do not have all of those requirements, NLC has a full suite of upgrading.
While the Associate Degree helps prepare students academically and offers a preferred transfer pathway, it does not guarantee acceptance into the NBNP. Program details, intake availability and specific entrance requirements are available at UNBC.
