Concordia University Scholarships

Concordia offers entrance scholarships to bachelor’s admission candidates and in-course scholarships for students enrolled in a bachelor’s program. The primary criterion for all scholarships is high academic achievement, and each scholarship has different criteria that affect eligibility and selection.

Entrance scholarships are awarded by the Faculties to new admission candidates based on top CEGEP grades or equivalent. An offer of admission to Concordia does not guarantee selection for an Entrance Scholarship. In-course scholarships are awarded automatically by the Undergraduate Scholarships and Awards Committee based on top assessment GPA (3.30).

For entrance scholarships, faculties make entrance scholarship decisions and offers during admission processing throughout the winter into the spring, until all available awards have been filled; selection is automatic for most scholarships based on academic ranking. For Faculty of Fine Arts programs that require a portfolio for admission, selection is based on the portfolio and not grades achieved before admission.

Scholarships are disbursed to students’ University accounts following verification of registration after the registration/course drop period ends. Higher value awards are payable in two equal installments over the Fall and Winter terms. In-course scholarship consideration begins in October/November based on top assessment GPA achieved in the preceding academic year.

• Candidates must be admitted to a Bachelor's program.
• Entrance scholarships are not available to Visiting students, Independent students, or students admitted to Certificate programs.
• In-course scholarships are available only to students enrolled in a Bachelor's program.
• In-course scholarship applicants must have completed at least one semester of studies at Concordia.
• In-course scholarships require a minimum Assessment GPA of 3.30.
• A limited number of In-Course Scholarships are open to part-time students.
• Guaranteed entrance awards: new undergraduate students in Canada who demonstrate academic excellence, and who meet eligibility requirements, receive the award; no application is required.
• Concordia awards require an application to be considered.
• Concordia awards applications open during the month of August.

• Guaranteed entrance award: a guaranteed entrance scholarship of $4,000 to new undergraduate students in Canada who meet eligibility requirements.

3. For most entrance scholarships, understand that selection is automatic for eligible candidates based on academic ranking, and offers are made by the Faculties during admission processing throughout the winter into the spring.
4. For most in-course scholarships, understand that awards are awarded automatically by the Undergraduate Scholarships and Awards Committee using academic rank lists, with no application required; only selected candidates are notified.
5. For Concordia awards (separate scholarship awards listed under Concordia awards), submit an application to be considered.
