Kalman Award for International Heritage Studies – University of Victoria

University of Victoria offers the Kalman Award for International Heritage Studies. One or more awards are given to full or part-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the Diploma in Cultural Resource Management, the Professional Specialization Certificates in Collections Management and Visitor and Community Engagement, or any degree program at the University of Victoria. The award supports applicants for international heritage work and learning experiences.

The award is aimed at students enrolled at the University of Victoria in the specified diploma/certificate programs or any degree program. The award may go to a graduating student, but successful applicants must be embarking on heritage work and learning experiences in an international setting.

Applicants are selected based on being a successful applicant who is embarking on heritage work and learning experiences in an international setting. The application process uses application forms available from the Division of Continuing Studies.

Support is described as “one or more awards” with an amount that varies. In-course scholarships, awards, and prizes are awarded in the subsequent winter session (September to April). After being offered the scholarship, acceptance requires having a NetLink ID and accepting through UVic Online tools under “View My Student Aid” for the appropriate Aid Year and Aid Period.

• Requirement: successful applicants must be embarking on heritage work and learning experiences in an international setting
• In-course scholarship eligibility (undergraduate requirement): completed a minimum of 12.0 units for credit
• In-course scholarship eligibility (graded units): 10.5 units graded using the standard nine point scale
• In-course scholarship eligibility (terms): completed units in two of the three terms of study in the previous academic year (May to April)

1. Obtain the application form from the Division of Continuing Studies.
2. Submit the application form by November 15.
3. After receiving an offer, accept the scholarship by having a NetLink ID and using UVic Online tools to select “Student Services” → “Awards and financial aid” → “View My Student Aid”, then enter the Aid Year and Aid Period and select “Accept” on the offered scholarship(s).
