Mount Allison University International Award

Mount Allison University describes applying for admission and scholarships together using one application for admission and scholarships when applying as a new student for an undergraduate degree at Mount Allison.

Mount Allison University’s application instructions cover Canadian and international high school students, mature students, transfer students, and students applying from an established pathway program with Mount Allison. Separate applications are available for exchange students, visiting students, returning students, and graduate students.

Mount Allison University states that, to be considered for scholarships and bursaries, your application and all supporting documents must be received by March 1. Admissions uses eligibility categories for who should use which application type.

• Applicant must be applying as a new student for an undergraduate degree at Mount Allison to use the “undergraduate application” approach described.
• High school students: still in high school OR have earned a high school diploma but have not completed any credits at a college or university AND are under the age of 22.
• Transfer students: have received a high school diploma and completed coursework at a college or university.
• Mature students: are 22 or older, have received a high school diploma, and have not completed any credits at a college or university.
• International students: not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
• To be considered for scholarships and bursaries: your application and all supporting documents must be received by March 1.

• Scholarships and bursaries consideration are tied to receiving the application and all supporting documents by March 1.

1. Submit an admissions application and scholarships application by creating an MtA application account and filling out the online application for admission and scholarships.
2. Submit supporting documents through the MtA application account, depending on the type of student (for example, high school transcripts for high school students; transcripts plus additional items for transfer and mature students; passport/ID and English proficiency proof when required for international students).
3. If applying for the Bachelor of Music: submit a Music application, audition, take a music entrance assessment, and submit a letter of reference as part of the music requirements.
4. If applying for Fine Arts (BFA or BA Fine Arts): submit a Fine Arts application and a portfolio.
5. If applying for Aviation majors: indicate “aviation” as the intended major during application and complete the stated aviation program conditions before official admission to the program.

• High school students: Final Grade 11 transcript; Grade 12 course list; mid-year Grade 12 transcript when available (for early admission); mid-year Grade 12 transcript (for general admission); final high school transcript if available.
• Transfer students: most up-to-date post-secondary transcripts from all institutions attended; final high school transcripts; letter of intent outlining academic/professional goals and addressing any academic discrepancies (if applicable); transfer credits.
• Mature students: transcripts; letter of intent outlining personal and career goals and explaining why they want to attend Mount Allison; updated resume noting any relevant educational and professional experience.
• International students: copy of passport or government-issued photo ID; proof of English language proficiency, if required (check admission requirements for your country); English language proficiency proof if English is not a first language and you may be asked to provide it.
• Additional documents for Bachelor of Music: Music application, audition, music entrance assessment, letter of reference.
• Additional documents for Fine Arts (BFA or BA Fine Arts): Fine Arts application, portfolio.
