University of Toronto CMPA Equity Scholarship

The Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) introduced the CMPA Equity Scholarship to help increase the ability of individuals from equity-deserving groups to contribute their research and knowledge to the healthcare field. CMPA provides the scholarship to attend the Family Medicine Forum.

The CMPA Equity Scholarship is aimed at physicians and physician trainees who self-identify as Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) or racialized participants. The scholarship is for attending the Family Medicine Forum (FMF).

A selection panel reviews each application and awards a scholarship based on need and the application package submitted.

CMPA provides a total of three equity scholarships to attend the Family Medicine Forum. The scholarship covers individual registration fees (any category) only, while additional costs such as travel, accommodations, meals, and incidentals are not covered.

• Applicant is a physician or physician trainee.
• Applicant self-identifies as Black OR Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) OR racialized.
• Applicant applies by submitting the requested materials by the application deadline.

• Individual registration fees (any category).
• Does not cover additional costs such as travel, accommodations, meals, incidentals, etc.

1. Write a brief response explaining how your participation at FMF would benefit your future and why it is important to you (max 400 words).
2. Include your current résumé.
3. Submit your application in English or French by email to [email protected] by the deadline.
4. Wait for notification: successful applicants are notified after the application deadline.
