Jiangsu University Chinese Government Scholarship CSC for International Students

The Chinese Government Scholarship Program is established by the Ministry of Education of P.R. China and managed through China Scholarship Council (CSC). The program provides both full scholarships and partial scholarships for international students and scholars, and Jiangsu University states two application routes: through the local Chinese embassy/consulate or directly through Jiangsu University.

At Jiangsu University, Category A covers all bachelor, master and PhD programs offered by Jiangsu University, while Category B covers Master and Ph.D programs. Applicants apply through Jiangsu University Online Application System and then complete the CSC online application system. The program is open to new students only.

Jiangsu University describes Category A as an embassy/consulate-led process where candidates obtain a CSC sponsorship letter after embassy selection, then obtain an admission letter from Jiangsu University, and finally register on the CSC online system and send a hard copy to the embassy. For Category B, applicants apply through Jiangsu University first, then receive an admission letter after JSU qualification selection, and complete CSC online application.

Jiangsu University lists scholarship duration by study level and includes the duration of preparatory Chinese language courses where applicable, as well as the duration of scholarship in academic years. Scholarship students should complete study within the set time, and the duration specified in the Admission Notice cannot be extended in principle. Jiangsu University also notes that scholarship candidates are contacted through email and that visa application documents are posted to candidates later.

1. Choose an application route: apply through the local Chinese embassy/consulate (Category A) or through Jiangsu University directly (Category B).
2. Category A: obtain a CSC sponsorship letter (Attachment 1) from the local Chinese embassy/consulate after the embassy selection process; obtain an admission letter from Jiangsu University through the online application system (http://admission.ujs.edu.cn); inform the embassy that you have been admitted by Jiangsu University; register and finish the online application at the CSC online application system (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/) and send a hard copy of a completed application form to the embassy.
3. Category B: apply through Jiangsu University Online Application System (http://admission.ujs.edu.cn) like self-funded students and upload the listed notarized soft copies; receive an admission letter after JSU qualification selection from Jiangsu University; then register and finish the online application at the CSC online application system (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/). Visit the CSC website http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/ for scholarship application.
4. Follow CSC online application steps: visit “CSC Study in China” website and register an account; input personal details; select Program Category “Type B” and click “New Application”; input the correct Agency Number (10299); upload supporting documents as requested and submit; after submission, note that amendments to personal details and application information cannot be made, and withdrawn applications must be resubmitted after re-editing; print the application form and submit it under the requirements of the dispatching authorities (or application processing agency).
5. Do not post hard copies until selected as CSC candidates (as stated). Scholarship-awarded universities should not entrust any individual or intermediary agent to process CSC applications.
