Jiangsu University Presidential Scholarships

Jiangsu University provides the JSU Presidential Scholarship to encourage excellent international students to study at Jiangsu University and further activate international students' potential. The scholarship is for international students getting registered for degree programs, including Doctoral, Master’s, and Bachelor’s degree programs.

The scholarship is offered in different types by degree level. Doctoral Degree Programs include Type A (tuition and accommodation fee plus an extra living stipend) and Type B (tuition and accommodation fee). Master’s Degree Programs include Type A (a set amount) and Type B (a set amount). Bachelor’s Degree Programs include Type A and Type B with different coverage and eligibility groups. Doctoral and Master’s Type A eligibility includes specific categories such as excellent students progressing at JSU, and applicants recommended by “Belt and Road” cooperative universities; other categories are based on university rankings or specific categories of Chinese universities and related programs.

Selection is based on eligibility categories and annual evaluation for renewals where applicable. For master’s and doctoral programs, the scholarship is renewed once a year after annual evaluation of the student’s performance, and the awarded scholarship from the second year may increase or decrease according to evaluation points.

• Applicants must be international students overseas taking English-taught degree programs (for all Chinese-taught degree programs, the page states a 40% discount on tuition fee).

• Master’s Type A eligibility includes: excellent JSU students continually studying from the bachelor degree to master degree; graduate applicants from the top 1,000 Universities in the world (US News & World Report, QS, THE, ARWU); graduate applicants from “First-Class Universities” in China; and graduates from the program of “First-class Disciplines” or top 1% of ESI.
• Master’s Type B eligibility applies to other admitted students (category not further defined on the page).
• Bachelor’s Type A eligibility applies to students from these new programs: Material Science & Engineering; Vehicle Engineering; Energy & Power Engineering; Food Quality & Safety; Construction Management (Intelligent Construction & Management); Bachelor Degree of Dental Surgery (BDS); Visual Communication Design; Information Management and Information Systems; Finance; Marketing.
• Bachelor’s Type B eligibility applies to students from Ten ASEAN countries, South Pacific Island countries, European Union countries, five Central Asian countries, and the listed countries: Algeria, Libya, South Africa, Tunisia, Ecuador, Russia, United States, Mongolia, Mexico, Nepal, Serbia, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom.
• Living stipend condition: the page states that the living stipend mentioned is CNY 5000 for first year, deposited to the student’s bank accounts according to attendance.
• Major transfer restriction: transferring of major by bachelor students who availed JSU Presidential Scholarship in the first year shall be approved only after the student compensates the scholarship amount back to the university.

2. Upload the completed application form to the “Presidential Scholarship Application Form” section when making online application through admission.ujs.edu.cn.
