Qingdao University Offers Chinese Government Scholarships for MS and PhD

Qingdao University Presidential Scholarship is a programme launched by Qingdao University to provide sponsorship to students and scholars of other countries for pursuing Master & Doctor-degree at Qingdao University. Qingdao University states the scholarship provides full coverage of tuition fee, on-campus accommodation fee, living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance expenses.

The programme is for international applicants seeking a Master or Doctor degree at Qingdao University. The scholarship sets quotas of 10 for master-seeking applicants and 20 for PhD-seeking applicants, and each scholarship recipient can be granted with no more than one scholarship.

Applicants must meet the requirements in “Qingdao University Application Information for International Graduate Students” and must apply through the university’s online application system. Qingdao University states that after checking registration information, applicants must upload proof of paying the registration fee and email scanned documents including proof of registration fee payment and a completed “APPLICATION FORM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OF Q.U.”

Qingdao University states that the scholarship support period keeps consistent with the schooling period given in the Admission notice. For continuation, students studying at school for 1 year or more are required to participate in an Annual Review covering academic achievements, learning attitude, attendance, behavior, and rewards and punishments, and not participating or failing results in cancellation. Students are also required to provide no less than 120 hours’ volunteer work related with international students’ admission & management at school.

• Living allowance: 3,500 CNY per person per month for Doctorate degree seeking students
• Living allowance: 3,000 CNY per person per month for Master students
• Comprehensive medical insurance: purchased by the university in accordance with relevant regulations of studying in China stipulated by the Ministry of Education of China

1. Refer to “Qingdao University 2025 Application Information for International Graduate Students” (see attachment 1) and visit the application system https://admission.qdu.edu.cn/ to finish on-line application.
2. After checking the registration information, upload the proof of paying the registration fee.
3. Send scanned copies of “proof of registration fee payment” and “APPLICATION FORM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OF Q.U.” (see attachment 2) with signature to [email protected], and mark the mail subject as “QUPS application”.
