Master of Research
Introduction
The University of Adelaide’s Master of Research combines a coursework component with a research project. Students develop a broad base of research skills by exploring key methodologies and approaches to research, including topics such as methods, communication and engagement. In the remaining part of the program, students plan, design, and complete an independent research project on a topic of interest and relevance to their field, under the guidance of a research supervisor.
Study is delivered primarily on campus. The program is full-time, and part-time study is not available for international students. The duration is approximate and based on a full-time study load. Research intakes are open throughout the year, with commencement months listed as February and July. The university states that admission is conditional on the availability of a suitable supervisory panel and resources to support the proposed project.
The university describes the degree as a pathway to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) qualification. It is only available to international students. Admission requires research experience, an approved degree, and meeting the English language requirements.
