Introduction
Bachelor of Interior Design is a Bachelor program taught at Algonquin College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 Years) options.
Algonquin College’s Bachelor of Interior Design (Honours) degree program prepares you to pursue a professional career related to the design of the built environment. The curriculum integrates professional and general studies with an emphasis on critical thinking and applied research. The program adds environmental and global perspectives in interior design, so you analyze and design healthy living and working environments using ecological, economic, and social aspects.
You complete design studio experiences and actively engage with the professional design community. Projects increase in scale and complexity from residential scale to medium and large scale projects in commercial sectors such as retail, workplace, hospitality, and healthcare. In the fourth year, you have the opportunity to specialize in an area of interest, complete an applied research paper, and complete a community-based project.
On successful completion of the required Construction courses, you earn a Building Biology Advocate (BBA) Certification from the Building Biology Institute.
