Introduction
Social Work is a Bachelor program taught at Canadian Mennonite University, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
The Canadian Mennonite University Bachelor of Social Work is a four-year undergraduate degree. Students learn to support people in challenging situations through thoughtful, ethical, and community-grounded practice. The program includes learning about how systems shape people’s lives, and it also includes courses across psychology, peace studies, ecology, religion, Indigenous studies, and other areas connected to social work practice.
Delivery includes Work-Integrated Learning with over 700 hours of hands-on experience through two field placements in the third and fourth years of the program. Students take a field seminar with classmates to reflect on learning and connect theory to practice. Faculty mentors and agency supervisors support and guide students during placements.
The program leads to work in areas described by Canadian Mennonite University, including child and family services, mental health or addictions services, schools, community organizations, and roles such as probation officer or community justice worker.
