Théâtre

Théâtre is a program taught at Cégep de Saint-Jérôme, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The “Théâtre” preuniversity program at Cégep de Saint-Jérôme trains students in body and language performance, dramatic writing, and scenography. Students also build skills to better analyze, understand, and appreciate dramatic works. The program includes opportunities to share interest in theatre and develop knowledge through productions, with a partnership with Théâtre Gilles-Vigneault.

The program is practice-focused. Students use laboratories for stage performance and staging in a dedicated studio with props and costumes. They present original pieces to the public at the auditorium Germaine-Guèvremont, including 4 productions presented before the public. Students also take a course in stage technique to build technical skills within a production, and they study areas such as directing actors and playing before the camera.

This program is for students who are analytical, creative, critical, curious, imaginative, and open, and who like arts and culture, theatre, reading, writing, communicating, working as a team, and interpreting and telling stories. It also supports students who want to pursue university studies.
