Carpenter
Introduction
Carpenter is a Diploma program taught at College of the Rockies, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1 year) options.
Carpenter from College of the Rockies prepares you for work as a carpenter. Carpenters construct, erect, install, maintain, and repair structures made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, concrete, and other materials. You’ll be able to build from architectural designs, apply modern building codes, and keep pace with advances in sustainable building technologies.
There are two ways to start. The Carpenter Foundation program is a 24-week full time program with a September intake. You do not need an employer for the Foundation program, which is designed to help you gain experience and knowledge about the carpenter trade before finding an employer to sponsor you for the remaining apprenticeship levels. College of the Rockies offers all four levels of Carpenter Apprenticeship technical training.
To begin an apprenticeship, you must have an employer sponsor, register with SkilledTradesBC, and complete your apprenticeship training. The program also fits people who want to work hands-on both indoors and outdoors, and who can work independently or with a team.
