Introduction

Biochemistry is a Bachelor program taught at Concordia University, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Concordia University’s Biochemistry (BSc) is a Bachelor of Science degree in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Students study chemical processes within cells of living organisms, including the role of proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids in cellular processes. The program also includes biochemical responses to toxic compounds in the environment.

The Bachelor of Science takes a minimum of three or four years of full-time study (90–120 credits), depending on academic background. The program includes a core component for all students. Specialization and honours students take additional intermediate and advanced courses, and honours and specialization students can perform original research. Co-op options are available for specialization and honours through paid work terms lasting 12 to 16 weeks.

Modules

  • Honours in Biochemistry (72 credits)
  • Specialization in Biochemistry (69 credits)
  • Major in Biochemistry (45 credits)
