Introduction
Environmental Science is a Bachelor program taught at Mount Allison University, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Environmental Science at Mount Allison University is an interdisciplinary, science-intensive program that provides a foundation to understand environmental issues from many different perspectives. Students study how key physical, chemical, and biological processes explain complex environmental problems. Courses address topics such as the mechanics of weather and climate, the biological consequences of climate change, environmental degradation, the effects of climate on the distribution of animals and plants, and the impact of environmental change on freshwater systems.
The program is available as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) major, BSc honours, or a minor in any degree. Students learn through teaching labs, including a general environmental science lab space with basic tools and a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) computing lab that supports GIS software used by researchers and industry. The ECAB Lab research integrates methods from ecology, biomonitoring, and paleolimnology, with opportunities for field and lab-based undergraduate and graduate research.
