Introduction

Geocomputing is a Bachelor program taught at Mount Allison University, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Geocomputing at Mount Allison University is an applied program that combines theory and practice of computer science and geography. It gives students expertise to study and understand spatial dimensions of social and environmental problems, including minimizing environmental impacts and identifying critical habitat.

Students take courses in computer science, environmental science, and environmental studies, with spatial computing (geographic information systems) at the heart. The program includes a Geospatial Modelling Lab where students can work as research assistants, and a GIS Lab that supports GIS software. In the final year, students complete an applied capstone project that integrates both fields.
