Bachelor's in German Studies

German Studies is a Bachelor program taught at Mount Allison University, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

German Studies at Mount Allison University is a minor program that combines German language learning with courses in language, literature, and culture. Students study for a working knowledge of German, with emphasis on representative authors and movements to provide access to the literary traditions.

First-year courses teach grammar basics and enough vocabulary for basic communication in a German-speaking environment. Intermediate and advanced courses build oral and written proficiency. Literature courses are taught in German for upper-year students, and culture courses are taught in English and are accessible at all levels.

The program also includes opportunities for study and work abroad. Students can apply to work abroad as an English-language teaching assistant in Germany, or work on campus as a language lab monitor or a private language tutor.
