Introduction

Aircraft Maintenance Technician Diploma is a Diploma program taught at Northern Lights College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.

Northern Lights College’s Aircraft Maintenance Technician Diploma trains students to troubleshoot and perform aircraft inspections. Students study airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems, including how to disassemble and remove defective parts, assemble and install replacement parts, interpret technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints, and test aircraft systems.

The program is delivered in the Dawson Creek Aerospace Centre, a 2,230 square metre hangar with 15 aircraft for students to work on. It includes 1820 hours in total across four 20-week semesters per intake, with a break in July and August. Students complete practical projects across each semester and record maintenance history during training.

The program leads to a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Technician. Pathways to certification include a Certificate of Apprenticeship as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician through sponsor attestation, and AME “M” rating licensing is separate and issued by Transport Canada.
