Esthetician Certificate
Introduction
Esthetician Certificate is a Diploma program taught at Northern Lights College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.
The Northern Lights College Esthetician Certificate is an approximately 32-week certificate program covering esthetics and spa therapy. Students study theory and infection control, and complete hands-on training in facials, body massage, body treatments, aromatherapy, makeup artistry, waxing, lash lifting and tinting, brow tinting, manicures, pedicures, and gel polish and overlays. The program uses basic principles of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and chemistry to support applied learning.
Learning includes electrotherapy and sanitation procedures integrated throughout the program. Students perform services in a fully functioning on-site spa under the supervision of the esthetics instructor, gaining real-time practical client care experience. Students also develop required business practices and teamwork skills, explore career planning, and produce a professional quality portfolio. The program prepares students to write the Beauty Council Western Canada licensing examinations (theory and practical) at the end of training, with exam cost not included in program fees.
